There’s a point a lot of riders hit where they think:
“I think I need help… but I don’t think a clinic is right for me.”
Maybe your schedule is unpredictable.
Maybe you’re nervous riding in a group.
Maybe you’ve been riding for years and feel stuck.
Maybe you just want something more personalized.
That’s exactly what private coaching is for.
From very first rides to refining specific skills, everything here is shaped around your goals, your pace, and how you learn best. It also works around when you actually have time to ride.
A flexible way to work through things on the trail
Sometimes your schedule doesn’t line up. Sometimes you want more time to ask questions. Sometimes there’s one thing that’s been bugging you on the trail and you want to actually work through it until you feel comfortable.
Or maybe there’s a feature you’ve been side-eyeing for months that you want to session over and over until you get the perfect shot for an Instagram reel. Genna’s been there more than once!
That’s exactly the kind of thing private coaching is really good for.
Our coaching gives you the space you want. It also means we get more time to get to know you, how you ride, what’s going through your head on the trail, and how to help things click in a way that makes sense for you.
We build each session around you or your small group, what you want to work on, where you’re at, and how you learn, so you can make progress in a way that actually feels good.
Where private coaching works really well
Private coaching and lessons are a great option if:
-
Your schedule doesn’t line up with a weekly clinic. Shift work, busy weeks, life being life, parenting while juggling kid’s activities
-
You want one-on-one coaching or to ride with just a partner or a couple of friends
-
You’re brand new to mountain biking and want a supportive way to get started without a group
-
You’ve had a not so great learning experience before and want something more supportive this time
-
You’ve taken a clinic and want more time to practice or revisit something that didn’t quite stick
-
There’s something specific you want to work on. Corners, descents, features, confidence, that one thing that keeps popping into your head
-
You want to ride close to home or explore a new trail system with someone who knows the area
-
You thought Emma, Katie, and Genna were so fun and funny that you wanted more good times with one of them
Clinics are fun and supportive, but they can also be busy. There is more going on, and for some riders it can be harder to focus, ask questions, or process what is being taught. One-on-one gives you space to slow things down and learn in a way that actually sticks.
If any of this feels familiar, private lessons and coaching can be a really helpful and fun way to move forward.
Built around you and your goals
You get more time, more feedback, and more room to ask questions.
Everything is tailored to you or your small group. That might mean focusing on one specific skill, covering all the foundational skills, or spending extra time on the things that matter most to you.
It’s a more personalized way to learn, where we can really dig into your goals and break down the mental barriers that hold you back.
Emma once worked with a rider who felt really nervous on downhill corners. They started on a low consequence grassy slope, taking the time to get comfortable and repeat things until it felt manageable. From there, it didn’t take long before that same rider was carrying those skills onto singletrack and riding downhill corners with way more confidence.
We can also meet you where you are, literally. Want to ride close to home? Done. Curious about a new trail area, but not sure where to start? We love introducing people to new parts of the river valley!
Scheduling for private lessons is flexible, which can be a great option for shift workers, weekday time off, staycations, or those quiet “kids are at school or camp” windows that are otherwise hard to line up with a clinic.
I had a great experience working with Emma. Going into it, I was feeling unsure about my riding and lacked confidence, but Emma quickly created a supportive and encouraging environment. She is kind, knowledgeable, and really meets you where you’re at—always willing to move at my pace while also knowing when to challenge me in a way that helped things truly click.
